McCord Academy Clinic and “Swing’s The Thing” Golf Show: 90 minutes
Performed weekly since the inception of Orange Lake, this entertaining exhibition has an instructional theme. Presented by the McCord Golf Academy Instructional Staff, this 45-minute clinic is immediately followed by a swing analysis for each participant put on by Orange Lake’s Director of Instruction, Rick McCord and the McCord Academy Instructional Staff.
Pre-Event Warm-Up: 45 minutes-1 hour
Get your round started off the right way by receiving a brief introduction on the importance of the setup by the McCord Golf Academy Teaching Staff. Frequently, swing faults originate from golfers possessing poor setup fundamentals. Following the brief clinic, the Instructional Staff will disperse themselves on the range to provide a quick analysis. Participants will have the opportunity to view their swing using our computerized analysis.
Post-Event “Swing’s The Thing" Golf Show: 45 minutes
Following your day on one of Orange Lake’s revered championship courses, present your group with the opportunity to hone their golf game. Relax and unwind while watching the world-class professionals of the McCord Golf Academy present an entertaining show filled with instructional content, sure to enlighten each participant on the golf swing. Students will also have the opportunity to interact with the professionals through the course of the show by answering questions on all areas of the game. This is a perfect compliment to a post-event banquet and can serve as a means to present awards and prizes to event winners.
Learn and Play Half Day: 3 hours

*90 minute Game Improvement clinic with Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor, Rick McCord and the McCord Academy Instructional Staff. Rick and the instructional Staff will provide swing demonstrations.
*9-hole Pro-Am tournament or leisure golf round. Take what you learn onto the golf course with an opportunity to play with our talented golf professional staff or plan your own exclusive round.
Improve Your Drive: 90 minutes
Everyone wants to know how to hit the ball further, and this exclusive clinic will provide students in-depth instruction on the factors that contribute to power in the golf swing. Students will be offered the opportunity to inquire about swing technique. Rick McCord and the Swing’s The Thing Teaching Staff will provide demonstrations through the course of the clinic. At the conclusion of the event will be a Long Drive contest offering fun and prizes for all participants.
Player Development Half Day Event: 3 hours
Don’t fret if some or your entire group has never played this game before. The McCord Academy has an abundance of experience introducing students to the game, and eliminating the fear of golf. In our comprehensive Player Development Event, we will get you and your group ready for an on-course experience as we take you through the major skill areas. In this relaxed atmosphere, participants will enjoy a variety of activities to peak their interest.
Computer Digital Analysis: 2 hours
Having the ability to see your golf swing is paramount in a student’s development. In this unique clinic, students will receive comprehensive instruction on the various components and skills required to develop a consistent and repeatable golf swing. Following the clinic, each student will have the opportunity to get their swing taped and analyzed by a member of our Instructional Staff. Each student will have the opportunity to take home a personalized CD of their golf swing complete with on-screen graphics.
Short Game Mystique: 2 hours
More than 65% of all the shots that are played in golf are taken from within 75 yards of the green. However, most golfers spend much less than 25% of their practice time on the shots that account for the scoring areas. This clinic is designed with an emphasis to take the mystique out of the scoring shots: pitching, chipping, putting, and bunker play. Following the demonstration, students will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with a member of the Instructional Staff.
